Finally Department of Posts has released notification for promotion to Inspector Posts
through Departmental Examination for the vacancy year 2024 ie 01.01.2024 to
31.12.2024. Hence the wait is over as notification for 109 posts has been released on 24th July, 2024 by India Posts for filling up the vacant posts of Inspector Posts through conducting limited department competitive exam also know as LDCE for Inspector Posts Exam.

Who can apply for Inspector Posts Exam 2024?
It is noteworthy that only the following officials of service in Department of Posts are eligible for applying for
Inspector Posts through this exam. In short the eligibility criteria is as per Recruitment Rules (RR) for Inspector Posts notified in GSR 89 (E) dated 05.02.2019.
- HSG-II (Level 6)
- PM Grade II (Level 6)
- Stenographer Grade I (Level 6)
- LSG (Level 5)
- PM Grade I (Level 5)
- PA/SA (Level 4)
- Stenographer (Level 4)
Therefore it is clear as the Inspector Posts is of Level 7, the eligible candidates are from level 4 to level 6.
In addition to this 08 years of regular service is mandatory for applying for the exam.
Age Limit for Inspector Posts Exam
While above eligibility conditions are mandatory, further more there is maximum as limit for applying which is 45 years on crucial date which is 01.01.2024 for this notification.
Finally if you are working in Department of Post in Pay Level 4 to Level 6 and has service length of 08 years on 01.01.2024 and your age is 45 or below on 01.01.2024. You are eligible for applying for the exam.
